Vera Stern is a Harpist, music teacher, Tai chi and Qi Gong instructor.
For over 10 years, she has been suffering from severe conditions of fibromyalgia, having lots of pain and trouble sleeping. (Fibromyalgia produces widespread pain, disturbed sleep, and exhaustion from head to toe. Although the muscles hurt everywhere, they are not the only cause of your discomfort. Instead, thediffuse, body-wide symptoms are greatly magnified by malfunctions in the way the nervous system processes pain.)
Vera was bedridden but her strength from inside told her to something about it. She started to do some tai chi with Sifu David Lau. Vera’s health turned the corner and improved doing tai chi and since became a Tai Chi Instructor teaching into the communities. She then found herself reading about Qi Gong, the base of Chinese Medicine.
In August 2009, Vera was drawn to learn more about Qi Gong and found Master Teresa Yeung of Wu & Yeung ® Qi Gong Wellness Institute. Practicing Qi Gong daily help her greatly. She started feeling even better and the pain improved so much so that she eventually stopped taking medication. With this personalhealth achievement she was drawn to become one of Master Teresa’s instructors, to help share this ancient healing power. In November 2010, Vera graduated from the General Qi Gong Instructor Level 1 program. In 2012, she has graduated from the Level 2 program. She is certified to represent the Institute to teach the Wu’s Health and Fitness Qi Gong™ Form and Wu's Anti-Cancer Longevity Qi Gong™ & Walking Qi Gong.
“Qi Gong to me is opening a direct path to healing with use of the creative Qi energy. Tai chi uses more of a physical movement to achieve health benefits that will help us build on that path and teaches us to use the energy. Master Teresa has opened a door for me towards a new journey along that long road of the spirit that heals and empowers. I made my first step outside the door and I feel great joy and new hope. I am glad to share and teach others who are in need and interested ! ”
One of my students at Amesbury CC, told me this nice story:
She went to visit her Dr. whom she knows for 10 years. The Dr. was ready to take her blood pressure. She asked the Dr. to wait a minute : she sat with her palms upward by the knees and did her breathing clearing body parts. Dr. took her measurement and the blood pressure was perfect! This never happened before as she tends to have low blood pressure.
Dr. was very impressed and asked her what did she do.She said she did Qi Gong.
